Who is Assault City Roller Derby?
Assault City Roller Derby (ACRD) is Syracuse, NY’s first and only all-women, flat-track roller derby league! ACRD, founded in 2007, is a Not for Profit organization named after the “Salt City.” Each team member is required to pay monthly dues in order to support team practice space, training, and equipment. We also depend on devoted volunteers, businesses, sponsors, and family to hold our truly unique events. ACRD provides fans with full contact; hard hitting real action (not staged or scripted).
The league consists of two teams: The Assault Squad and the Battery Brigade as well as an arsenal of referees. The league season is comprised of four home bouts in Baldwinsville, NY and 8-10 away bouts in locations including Toronto, ON, New Jersey, Long Island, and Troy.
In July 2011, ACRD became an apprentice member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association. As part of our apprenticeship, we are working closely with the Atlanta Rollergirls, to continue our league’s growth and improvement.
